We are a family-owned and operated poultry farm that strives to use our poultry to better the soils we farm while providing nutrient dense eggs, crops, and value added products to our community.

About Us
Pecking Pastures is focused on egg production and hatching chicks for sale for others that are interested in providing their families with farm fresh eggs rather than commercial eggs.
Silkie chickens are our passion project because well they’re just so darn cute. We raise silkies to hatch and sell chicks and continually try to improve the quality of the birds in the process.

About Our Journey
Pecking Pastures first started when in 2019 Tricia decided that she wanted to get chickens. As a gardener this seemed like the next logical progression in being self-sustaining. At the time living on a tiny property in the city getting approvals to have a few hens seemed a challenge. After owning chickens for two years the next logical step was purchasing a farmhouse that needed a huge renovation in order to have all of the chickens, because anyone that starts with a few chickens quickly realizes like Pokemon you gotta catch em all. Over two years into the farm renovation the 50+ chickens we now have are living their best lives. They are spoiled with treats and get to free range as much as possible, but prefer to just hang out and poop on the porch.
Meet the owners
In 2019 Tricia started researching and learning about chickens in preparation of getting our first flock of chickens. We fell in love with chickens and by 2022 we purchased our farm and began expanding our flock.
